eggz
Finally we're getting proper certification for UltraHD TVs and Displays. So if one buys a new TV that is UltraHD premium certified, hopefully it will have a bit more future proofing. https://www.avforums.com/news/ultra-hd-alliance-announce-new-4k-specs-and-logo.12203 Now we can start the process of shopping for a proper 4K TV ;D

pschia
I don't like Samsung's SUHD colors. Those sets on demo in the stores have red and green colors that are so overblown that it hurt the eyes to look at them.

That's marketing "Color mode"...that's how you attract "eye balls"...but yes, for discerning buyers, you will need some serious calibration to get baseline Rec 709. For BT 2020, need a more advanced software calibration tools like Calman and Chromapure to make it work. For everything else - I.e. AVIA HD or DVE etc...will only get you Rec 709 gamut.
