Two Flies
Tell us about your guitars/amps the ones you've owned, sold, lost, or dream about and why? Pics are always good. I've a 70'S Yamaha FG 450 Love this guitar, I'll prolly never sell it, I'd give it away to family member or someone deserving . Great tone and stays in tune for ages. Fender sunburst mim Telecaster. Had the 1957 sunburst Maton it meet an unfortunate end it fell over and snapped the neck one night, just after I'd finished restringing it, picked it up in the late 70's for $100 (I was 19 and had been living away from home for a couple years, I went hungry to get it), seen one go for $1200+on ebay recently. I just missed out on an Epiphone EJ 200 c Jumbo on ebay the other day I was prepared to pay $450 for used,(new (850 ish) the reason I missed out on it, I was yapping to an SNA member on the phone and forgot what time the bid closed it went for $401. I want the EJ 200 because I think it's well made and great value guitar Its modelled on the Gibson SJ 200 (except it has a cut away) my dream guitar 25 k+ unless I win lotto the SJ200 will remain a dream. I've also been looking at getting The Loar LH300 at around $500ish this arch top for my money has got to be one the of the best made and sounding arch top guitar's in he sub $1000 . It's pretty much the same as my busted 57 Maton. stock pics used Edited October 17, 2012 by MC240

zog
I'm a crappy, out of practice player - but every so often I drag out my old favourite and have a twang: Nothing flashy but it works! Japanese made Squier from the 80s, has an additional semour duncan dualcoil picked added and tone controls removed. Two Flies
Check out the Fender stack, picked up the 3 series 15 yesterday. In some ways they are a big improvement regarding the quality and choice of backing tracks, the interface with pc has better options.(still haven't loaded it to my lap top). This new one doesn't seem to have quick factory reset after you been messing around with all stompbox and amp options. you have to hook it up to your pc to do that. It doesn't show what key the backing track is in on all tracks or give you the option to change the key of the backing track (major drag). Hope its just learning curve thang. It has play along function via mp4 and sd cards also has sd play along sd cards with Clapton, ACDC, Tom Petty and many more that are readily available on ebay for around $20 .Has some great SRV, James Brown, Metal, Johnny Cash type backing tracks and many moretracks already installed, that have been recorded by good session musos. Check out Youtube There are plenty of great lounge room players just having a ball showing of their talents with the both the Fender gdec 15, 3 and the Fender gdec 30,3 What the original(pictured on the bottom) has over it hands down is easier navigation, for example to change key of the backing track is very easy with gdec original, the original has more option's when it comes to stompbox choice on every track (the new gdec will only give 4 or 5 stompbox option on most tracks) . Over all opinion the new offers more, but what they've given with one hand, they've taken away with other. What I really wanted was the Fender gdec 30,3 I won the bid on ebay for one on Thursday in Melbourne, but the seller (the stick) cancelled my bid because I live in Sydney. Any of you locals are welcome to bring your over your guitar (or use my Tele ) and give it a lash if you want just flick me a pm and we can gee up a time. Cheers Paul.
