I reckon the normal one looks good - but it's much better (and sounds better) in the flesh than the photos. They don't do it justice.

But (i.e. WTF?) why don't they release it with a sequential gearbox like they have on the rally cars? Having to spend that extra care and time changing gears is so last century (and sooo slooow). So much more fun just flicking a lever or a paddle - you don't even have to heel&toe!

Obviously the 2025 model hasn't been released in Oz yet, but i've seen a current GR Yaris Rallye Edition at a servo and was impressed. They look and sound like a purpose-built rally car. Re: sequential gearboxes, you can shift sequentially at race speeds. But in city traffic, you have to use the clutch which is tricky with a sequential. Also, sequential boxes add a lot of cost.

Similar to a bike. You don't need a clutch at reasonable speeds, but it makes it much easier when you're stuck in traffic.

Shimano's electronic groupsets don't require a manual clutch for low speeds, and don't cost anything like a good sequential box in a car. Only hypercar manufacturers would use a sequential box in a road car. Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo etc don't use them for good reason.

Blew the clutch on my 200B when I was 18. Drove it for a month without while I saved the sheckles to buy the parts….
was a Celica 5 speed box
Great car was built by a friend who was a mechanic and QANTAS wrencher

If you like to mod, there are sequential gearboxes for the GR Yaris. Can run 9's with all the other mods !!

I thought the GR was actually more fun at the track than the Focus RS.

I did come to this country last century... was told "only sheilas drive autos" 😛

I guess our nomenclature is different. Any dual clutch gearbox is sequential and most of the hypercar manufacturers now use these exclusively. I'm not surprised that motorcycles (bikes) do not, as they're a little more cumbersome than the older style transmission.

Ok we're on the same page now. I guess I should have clearer in my comment by refererring to a manual sequential box, which I assumed was what you were talking about. I'm also a fan of a well executed DCT like Porsche's PDK or VW's DCT used in the Golf R.

As far as I can tell, it's mainly the time attack guys and rally teams that fit those expensive manual sequential boxes to their GR's. And for that purpose, they're excellent.

 What is it?

Nilu, 27

A bespoke design made by an ex Bugatti designer who worked on the Chiron. The front nose of the car is one of his Chiron concepts that wasn't adopted.

The name Nilu is part of both his kids names - the car is he and his wife's company formed and the car is a limited release with orders already placed at $3.5m a pop.

I've gravitated allot to this car recently - so much about it to like and its a pure analog driving experience. The engine is even made in NZ.

The Maserati guy yelled out “nice number plates to me”

I yelled back awesome sounding car!
Mazzas always make me smile. The AMG sounded nice too

Traffic was crawling at 40 and stopping a lot.
But was still nice to hear that Maserati engine growl.
Those AMGs sound and look menacing too.
I felt a bit lame in my 986 but still fun.

I’ve been meaning to give the Boxster some new vocal cords  and dropped in to my local exhaust guru and he’s gonna make me up a system similar to this.
Helmholtz resonators to combat drone also

Here is Colin Bond in the Ignis Alfa Romeo GTV6 dicing with Tony Longhurst in the JPS BMW 325i at Amaroo Park in 1986. This was the re-shelled RHD drive car built after the LHD Luigi Racing-built car was destroyed in the infamous 11 car pile up at the Surfers Paradise ATCC round in 1985.

As a VW lover, this fastback I believe never came out of the factory with this motor...

But , who is in front being chased by an E49 Charger and a 2 door Le Monaro.
