DRC
After many years of mismatched speakers and old AV receivers tucked away in hard to reach spaces (under paperwork sometimes...), I thought it time to tidy up the office desktop. The amp is a Cambridge Topaz AM10 (about $400) which has a 3.5 headphone jack, mp3 input jack on the front, plus five inputs on the back including phono. I was tempted by the cheaper Topaz AM1, which sells for about 80 quid in the UK (didn't see one locally). The speakers are Dynaudio DM 2/6. The budget blew out a bit of the Dynaudio DMs, but they had a much better sound than the other small bookshelf speakers I listened to. The sound is good with the system mostly for iTunes use. A very good bang for buck result, under $1000 all up and reasonably compact. Once broken in the amp and speakers will get a listen in the main system, it will be interesting to see how the amp and speakers stack up!

DRC
Hi LP A Soundblaster X Fi Extreme Audio, it is a few years old (four or five). I am not up to date with what works best. The PC also has a Realtek card (probably onboard). Using a mini jack out into the rca inputs of the amp.
