Sorry to plagiarise the topic...

Suzuki RG 250 WE1 HB replica. So peaky it struggled to maintain 100 kph in top gear. But it handled beautifully and went like stink between 7000 and 9000 rpm.

It didn't take me long to crash it...

Red Suzuki GT 185, brand new in 1977.

I did 24,000 miles on it in 14 months then upgraded to an RD400 Yammy.

Cool, I never rode an RGV but heard that you had to tour in 5th gear, better fuel economy too apparently. The RD400's a hitting a cult status now Batty. I rode a mates RZ350 (with 250 stickers on it to fool the cops), was a little beasty.

My first bike, being a country boy was an '89 Yamaha TT250, I bought it off my brother. Geared it so revs was maxing out at 100km/h just so I could get some decent acceleration. I used the wise old words, to go faster keep the throttle open wider for longer.....

Nahh not my pic, this is a slightly ealier model, mine had the improvements of a white fake radiator cowl instead of the red one above.

A whole year older than me. This is not my bike, mine was rescued from a chook shed when I was 17 with the proviso, "if you can get it going , it's yours"

I got it going and had a heap of fun as a stupid young man

Ok, here we go..Honda Z50A Blue

1971-honda-z50a-k2-mini-trail-bike.jpg

honda-xr250r-motorcycles-pictures.jpg

then Honda XR250 1996 model (twin carb model)..got my licence on this one and first road registered bike.

Then Honda CB1100F Super Bol'dor (first roadbike)

HONDA+CB1100F+SUPER+BOL+D%2527OR.jpg

I've had 4 other Honda roadbikes since this one...1992 CBR1000f, 1994 Honda VFR 750 (best bike I've ever owned), 2 x VTR 1000's (one as a track day bike when I worked for a rideday company).

As you may have guessed, I love Honda but I must admit I had quite a few BMW's for work and they never ceased to amaze me at how hard you could punt them despite being larger touring bikes in design!!

All file photo's, I am now motivated to find pics of all my bikes. Will post when found. The best will be me on the Z50 when I was about five wearing what looks like an ice cream container for a helmet but is actually just an open face.

The Guzzi Mille, wrecked me as a rider though because of the intergral braking system. Nice bike though :)

1st road bike,I don't have an original picture of my RD 400,it was similar to this one except with drag bars cafe racer style mirrors, and custom slimline fibreglass mudguards and wire spoke wheels.

It was also rego'd as a 250 like Grainy's to fool the cops

The baby Fireblade. CBR250RH. Redlined at 19000RPM and sounded like an F1 car while doing so. Loads of fun.

Only dropped it twice, but the 2nd time wrote the bike off, and saw me laid up from work for 6 months.
