bee200sx Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hey guys, Projector Newbie here, I need some feedback on a cost effective (cheap) screen for the ESPON EH-TW6000W projector. I have seen a few motorised ones on the web on ebay, and few reputable dealers. I was originally thinking a 120 inch screen however they seem to be out of stock in a lot of places. So I was wondering is it worth waiting for the 120 inch screen or just get a 100 inch one? The projector will be approximate 4-5m away from the screen and seating position will be about 4 meters. Can the Epson TW6000W project a 120 inch image with decent quality? or would 100 inch be better in this case. Thanks for your help in advance guys. Cheers.
ayou2 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 From only 4 meters away screen height NPA (net picture area = white screen area) should be a max of 1300mm. Which makes 100" 16:9 (or just under) ... perfect. If you go too big, the viewing experience is like being in the very front row at the cinema ie: too much screen to take in. These guys are worth dealing with IME. https://www.avaustralia.com.au/products/Motorised-Projection-Screens.html

Factor in the black bars on 9/10 movies assuming the OP is going 16:9, and you've all ready lost a good part of the screen size... Edited September 15, 2012 by Bus_Boy

I might be interested in selling my Aussiemorphic Mk3 and corrector to help you get rid of the black bars, if you are interested...
