Cyber_Murphy Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Item: SGR SS18P, 18†sealed subwoofer. (Passive) Location: Melbourne, South East (10km from CBD) Not shipping. Too big and heavy :-) Pickup. Or can deliver it myself in Melbourne (within reason!) Price: $1000 Purchased for around $1700 (perhaps even more?? Can’t remember the exact amount) Bought as part of the “SNA /DTV group buy†in July 2010 Item Condition: -Excellent! -Has never been driven hard. Never 'thrashed' or ‘over-driven’ -Never used for Home Theatre, only in my 2ch stereo music rig. -Always used with high quality Amps (Crown & Yamaha). -Has Never been moved once installed Reason for selling: Not used anymore, and it hasn’t been used for a while. My room is too small for a sub like this. I listen mainly at night at ‘low volume’, and I find the Bass is more than adequate from my Usher’s. Now, I would really like the space back to put in another AV stand! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Direct Transfer, COD. Extra Info: -Fantastic SGR build quality!! Purchased directly from SGR in July 2010. -Still in Warranty!! (Expires June 2013) -Uses Exodus Audio Maelstrom-X 18 inch driver. 40mm Marine Ply enclosure. (125Lt.) -Dual 2 ohm Voice Coils. Can be wired in series for 4 ohm, or in parallel for 1 ohm. -Each coil can also be wired to an independent amplifier channel for 2 ohm (same signal for each amp channel is of course required!) -Dimensions (mm): 660H x 540W x 588D Pictures: Edited September 20, 2012 by Cyber_Murphy
tktran Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Even passive- What a bargain! Bolt on a Hypex DS8.0 (or similar) on the back, or use an outboard amp with some LP filters and tune the EQ to fit into your room, and you've got world class bass!
Cyber_Murphy Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) Active or passive? Ooopps.. Should have mentioned that I suppose.. It's a Passive sub. (have hence edited my original advert..) Thanks! CM Edited September 10, 2012 by Cyber_Murphy

Antripodean Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Great sub CM! How much power do you need to drive it?
Cyber_Murphy Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Hi Antripodean, Sorry for late reply.. I have 2 power specs, one is from the actual Exodus manual, and the other is a reccommended power rating from SGR, which takes into account the sealed enclosure.. Both documents are at home.. But I will post them for you this afternoon!! Thanks.. CM
Guest Peter the Greek Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Bargain.....if I had the cash i'd buy in a heart beat to go with my other one......
Cyber_Murphy Posted September 20, 2012 Author Posted September 20, 2012 Great sub CM! How much power do you need to drive it? Ok,, The Exodus paper work says "Pmax 1500 Watts". The suitable amplifier reccommendation for 125 Lt sealed enclosure varies from between 800W and 2000W. I did have some info direct from SGR about suitable amps for the SS18P, but I cant seem to find it..?? BTW: The official site: http://www.sgraudio.com.au/Products/ss/ss18.html Also, this Sub is still in warranty until June 2013!! It has 3 year rtb warranty!! Ta CM
