epos Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Item: Custom Turntable Stabilisers Location: Adelaide - Henley Beach Price: ~$35 + post Item Condition: Brand new, straight off the machine Reason for selling: See Info Payment Method: Bank Transfer - postage available too Extra Info: I have been planning on machining a turntable stabiliser for myself but the company I work for prefer to do bulk rather than one off so will have approximately 10 spare weights. They will be unfinished aluminium (straight off a CNC lathe) and should weigh between 500 and 600 grams. Diameter is approximately 75mm at the base but I am currently trying to make one as heavy as possible without being too tall or intruding on the headshell. I am unsure about costing as that depends on materials and manufacturing cost so the price given above is only approximate. With enough interest I should be able to get some done and if all that happens I will make a separate for sale ad so this is expression of interest only. Pictures: Edited September 27, 2012 by epos
wixy Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Count me as interested. Any possibility of also manufacturing stabilising rings, similar to this: Edited September 7, 2012 by wixy

Lansche plasma guy Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Me too times 3 (ie 3 but probably have mates who would take 4 (or 5)). Can confirm numbers if needed. Looks fun (and cheap)! :-) LpG
epos Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 How big are the stabiliser rings? Do they fit around the outside of the platter or something?
Batty Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Epos, will these be similar to my TT weight? Pic included so folks can get an idea, this is 75mm across the base and 50mm high and weighs approx 580 grammes.

audiohifiaudio Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Yeah I could be interested need more info picture etc

RockandorRoll Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Yeah id be interested Would have to fit over the spindle on the groovetracer sub platter though. The last one i bought didnt work
Batty Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Maybe a blind hole in the top where an insert of different metals could be fitted to change the overall weight, but now I'm seriously increasing the cost.
Batty Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Yeah id be interested Would have to fit over the spindle on the groovetracer sub platter though. The last one i bought didnt work Nathan, what is the diameter of the spindle and how high does it sit above the record, a hole could easily machined to suit. I think mine is 7.2 or 7.3mm
epos Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 yeah I have put 7.25 mm and height of hole on inside is 20mm from memory, I'll have to double check when I get home but if you need one special one I should be able to machine it up for you
RockandorRoll Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I dont have a set of calipers to measuer, but roughly with a ruler, im guessing anything over 7mm It snot a height issue, its only 12mm off the platter top, but the width on the last one didnt work
