Dynomite Records Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Item: Genuine 2nd State Beatles "Yesterday and Today" Butcher Cover Location: Canberra Price: $1000 ono Item Condition: VG+ EX+ Reason for selling: Need the cash Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Pictures: Ok Beatles collectors out there here it is, the Holy Grail of Beatles records. This is a genuine 2nd state (paste over) Butcher Cover of the Beatles "Yesterday and Today". This would be perfect for a professional peel job or just left as it is. Strangely good 2nd state Butcher's now bring similar money to 3rd state (peeled) covers. This has the original paper inner sleeve and is an RIAA number 6. Not many of these come up here in Australia. Absolutely 100 percent guaranteed genuine (Ringo's v neck is clearly visible). Given the rarity and value of this piece I am only interested in pickup with cash payment. 1
alistairm Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Wonderful collectors item. I have a 3rd state, and must say I'm tempted by this. 1st state - unmolested, rare as rocking horse poo. 2nd state - recovered with pasted cover, unmolested, butcher cover can be seen through the paste over 3rd state - have been peeled and generally look pretty tatty without a major and difficult restoration
Vortexjah Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Sorry guys, vinyl newbie here, what the hell are you guys on about?
Saxon Hall Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Does this answer your question? It was quickly withdrawn and covered over with a pasted on cover! Edited September 7, 2012 by holdencaulfield2007

emesbee Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Sorry guys, vinyl newbie here, what the hell are you guys on about? Had me scratching my head too, but now I do remember once hearing something about that controversial cover. First time I've actually seen it though.

progladyte Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I had a few of those come through my record shop in the early 80's. As said earlier - rare as...........
Grumpy Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I'm pretty sure that my Sister gave me an original Butcher Shop copy when She went CD - Just about all my records were sold for 50c at a Garage sale before I got back in to the Darkside. Oh CRAP!!!!
