Anybody else a fan of his solo stuff?

I tended to prefer the songs he wrote for Husker Du over Bob Mould's.

Bob Mould has gone on to some sort of acclaim, unfortunately, Grant Hart has kind of languished in relative obscurity.

I love "Good News For Modern Man" and Nova Mob's "Last Days for Pompeii". Brilliant songs written by an immensely talented song writer.

Anybody who loved Husker Du should search out these titles.

I have only one Hart album, "HOT WAX", which I think is excellent. Not sure how it rates in his larger body of works.

However, I do have just about everything Bob Mould has done since leaving the Huskies. It is noted that the two SUGAR albums have recently been released in expanded editions, along with FILE UNDER EASY LISTENING, DOG AND PONY SHOW etc.

This bloke is so underrated. I defy anyone not to be exhilarated from hearing "HOOVER DAM" with a bit of welly behind it.

Bob has just started a tour playing the SUGAR album in it's entirety. Please Gods , let him make it to Oz.

Hey again Zen.

Hot Wax is pretty good, but I prefer "Good News For Modern Man" and "The Last Days Of Pompeii" which he released with his band, Nova Mob.

"The Last Days Of Pompeii" has just been re-released on vinyl and sounds great for a rock record produced on a tiny budget.

There's also his first solo album titled "Intolerance" which is great as well. He's certainly nowhere near as prolific as Mould, but what material he has released has been stellar.

Again, it's all about personal preference, and as much as I like Mould's solo stuff, I still prefer Hart's output.

I think he's the more gifted song writer, along with being the more troubled soul, which given Bob's general gestalt, is saying something.

Bob Mould has a new album out "Silver Age". Flac form is purchasable online direct from the record label.

Yep great album, so far have only listened on my MAC with headphones. Tonight it will be played loud on the main system and get the proper treatment

The record label website also had a remaster version of Sugar's Copper Blue + Beaster (3 discs) $15.99 flac

They also have cd and lp versions at what I think is a reasonable price
