PorkBun69s Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) The House of Kingwa has released another no holds barred version of the Reference 7 dac. http://www.audio-gd.com/Master/Master-7/M7EN.htm Seems like there is some re-work and enhancements across the digital input stage, for the BNC, I2S and USB inputs, 32bit 384k Asynchronous transfer via USB, and OCC wiring across the components. IN5 , I2S input, ultra neutral , monitor and revealing allow users hear anythings in the records , ,up to 32bit / 192KHz support . IN6 , USB input, ultra neutral , monitor and revealing allow users hear anythings in the records , ,up to 32bit / 192KHz support . (In Non-USB version, IN6 is I2S input) Will be interesting to see how this one pans out commercially and the improvements over the existing Reference 7.1 Edited September 6, 2012 by katattack74
twwen2 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Nice. Looks like it'll be their statement product.
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted September 7, 2012 Volunteer Posted September 7, 2012 "allow users hear anythings in the records " it does vinyl too !
Demondes Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I found this statement puzzling "Must have 3 feet but customer can request 4" ????
pete_mac Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Allow me to translate The DAC comes with three triangulated feet as standard, but four can be fitted upon request.
PorkBun69s Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 I wonder if Mr Darko will get his hands on one for review?
Grimmie Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I'd bet that they have one winging it's way to his place right now. - They want some more meat on their bones.
New Sensations Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I wonder if Mr Darko will get his hands on one for review? Unlikely. Review queue pretty much full until 2013.
Demondes Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Allow me to translate The DAC comes with three triangulated feet as standard, but four can be fitted upon request. Ha Ha yeah gathered that. KIngwa really needs to get a good translator for his website
kdoot Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Hoo boy. 8x PCM1704, supporting up to 192kHz sample rate in NOS mode, with an allegedly excellent USB interface that doesn't require custom drivers... first DAC in a while that's had me glancing at my bank account.
zydeco Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Hoo boy. 8x PCM1704, supporting up to 192kHz sample rate in NOS mode, with an allegedly excellent USB interface that doesn't require custom drivers... first DAC in a while that's had me glancing at my bank account. Me too. Is it async-USB? Or, alternatively, an view on the quality of the USB input? The web-site indicates that this is the case but the local sales person seemed to indicate that it wasn't async / best set-up involved audiophileo as USB to S/PDIF input. APS
PorkBun69s Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 It is asynchronous but i still believe that the AP/AP2 or other dedicated USB/SPDIF's are better at doing just that and sending the spdif output to the dac. 1
