Pioneer BDP-450 Hacking Firmware

Hi everyone,

this thread is solely for the hacking of your pioneer bdp-450.

i take no responsibility if you brick your set!! ( please remember this!! )

i have tested it many times, back n forth and it works all the time!

i have uploaded into my "BOX ACCOUNT" the firmware needed.

i have named them "CASH", so that u won't get confused with the so many firmwares floating around!!

Many thanks to the original firmware hackers.

so here goes!

i will attach the link for u to download the 3 firmwares,

this is called "Cash 4.04"

when u click the link, u will see a small square box with an arrow down option,

click on it, and u will see "more options".

click on it again n u will see "Download".

it will download then... it takes some time to download, so do be patient!

in Cash 4.04 folder, there is 1 folder n 1 file.

inside the "BUDA" folder there is 1 more file...

so its a total of 3 files u need to download!!! not 2!!

in Cash Free folder, there is 2 folders n 4 files.

inside the "BUDA" folder there is 1 more file...

inside the "190B-74ED-26E5-4268" folder, there is nothing! ( JUST DOWNLOAD IT! )

so in total u must download a total of "7", (2 folders n 5 files)

in Cash Official 2.12 folder there is 1 folder n 1 file.

inside the "BUDA" folder there is 1 more file...

so its a total of 3 files u need to download!!! not 2!!

now comes the instructions, DO NOT LOAD all 3 firmwares into 1 thumbdrive!!!

u will need "3" fat32 thumb drives, for each separate firmware!!

if u r on official pioneer firmware's be it 2.05, 2.09, 2.12, n want to hack it to HDSir Free firmware,

just download "Cash Free" folder...load it into a thumb drive, n

plug it into your 450, n let it update via usb update.

while it is updating this firmware,

U WILL SEE IT HANG FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES!! THE PROGRESS BAR DOESNT MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. DONT WORRY... LET IT DO ITS THING. WHOLE UPDATING PROCESS WILL TAKE ABOUT 4 MINUTES!

the player will reboot itself.. u will hear a "WHIRRING SOUND" upon self restart.

go to home menu, initial settings n click on it.

then press 6666, n u will see HDSir page "REGISTERED"

thats all..

player is hacked!!

if u wanna go back to ver4.04 firmware, u need to install the "Cash Free" firmware 1st..

then use "Cash 4.04" firmware to install over it..

repeat the steps as above...

if u wanna go back to Original Pioneer Firmware, once again "Cash Free" firmware must be installed 1st..

then use "Cash Official 2.12" firmware to install over it..

repeat the steps as above...

BUT REMEMBER GUY'S!!! IF U GO BACK TO VER4.04, U WILL NEED TO REGISTER YOUR PLAYER ONCE AGAIN!!!!!!!

Thanks Cash. I'm definitely going to try it since I'm stuck on v5.10 (Diamond Enjoy).

 

I just need to know why would someone want to install 4.04 after HDSir free firmware? Is 4.04 fw better or has more features? Is it the most stable one?

in my opinion, i love 4.04, as i only play with physical original discs...

i have no need for samba, nfs, or whatever you call it!!!

i jus want a cinivia free player.

n also the ease of switching regions for bluray playback.

as i buy original blurays from all over the world.

another thing is, i wonder y HDSir suddenly released all his firmwares to be free...

its good, but maybe its a timebased firmware to be locked up after a few months??

(something could have been written in the code to jus kill your player to silence!  ;D )

so, ver4.04 is what i can trust in.

Lol.! I'll play the safe game then. Going to try this method now.

 

HDSir you are referring is the same whose firmwares aceofsnakes has uploaded in russian ixbt forum? As per the guide there, I thought all these firmwares are paid and need to get activated by paying ransom :P But anyway, even I buy all the bluray discs. The only problem i have is region lock cuz most of the blurays I have are of Region B and C.

Just tried to flash the free HDSir FW and it failed. :( Same message was displayed "Download file data corruption".

forgot to add...

U MUST LOAD FACTORY DEFAULTS BEFORE FLASHING FIRMWARE!!!

each start up to any firmware change, do the "load defaults" setting 1st!!!

try it n lets see how it goes.

I tried again and did factory reset of player. The OSD language changed to Russian but since I am aware of all the menu options i didnt even bother to change the language first then update the fw. Got the same error, Download file data corruption.

 

Do i have to change the FW to a different version to the get the one you have given? Let me tell you the history of FW updates my player has gone thru.

 

-New Region B player with v2.05

-Flashed v4.04 with no issues (https://yadi.sk/d/_sjV0DgNJs5eW)

-Flashed v2.09 downgrade (https://yadi.sk/d/kjZ8gqqc5L7YS) to load official firmware. This was flashed but i was unable to flash official v2.12 post this.

-Flashed v2.12 unofficial (https://yadi.sk/d/I8x_dA-hTZuSj) again to flash the official firmware. This was flashed but again I was unable to flash the one downloaded from Pio site.

-Flashed v5.10 Diamond Enjoy MAR 23 2013 (https://yadi.sk/d/vSXl0QBAJs5cS). This is the current FW in my player.

 

Now there is a different story why I flashed all these fws when I already had v4.04 once.

 

I wish I was in Singapore mate but I joined this forum recently to get help in flashing the correct firmware.
