Kensell21 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Item: Aslan bulit Azurahorn Speakers Location: Adelaide Price: $3,000.00 Item Condition: 9 / 10 Reason for selling: Changing Direction Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Deposit Extra Info: My aim was to have a dedicated music room. This was going to be an external rumpus room with a bigger area for me to get better use of these speakers. It looks like this is not going to happen in the short or medium term as I have a son who does overnight shift work has claimed this room for his own.. Andrew only built two of these types of speakers. Mine being the second. The super tweeter is a Fostex T925A The horn is a Beyma CPD 750 ND The woofers are a PAudio C16-600EL model... 8ohm 96 dB 55-2000 Hz power rating 1200 Efficiency 98dB @ 1 watt/1 metre Nominal Impedance 8 ohms, minimum Impedance 6.8 ohms Crossovers at 700 and 7000Hz at 12dB per Octave (Butterworth allignment) Andrew made external crossovers that give me me some ajustments to balance the speaker drive units.. Ive also recently experimented with a different external crossover built by Edward of Adelaide Ascension. Which aren't shown but are included for a new owner to try out.. As the crossovers are external, they came be easily removed for anybody who wants to try a active option. I was fortunate that Andrew was travelling down to Adelaide for a GTG and was able to transport these speakers and deliver them to my front door. The most inportant thing.... How do they sound??? They have a extremely open soundstage, my room could never do justice to them. Heeps of dynamics.. I had the plinths made to raise the height of the horns to ear level, which help the balance in my room. But they might not be needed in other setups... The higher frequencies are well catered by the supertweeters, whcih can be ajusted using the variable crossovers that Andrew built. Perhaps don't go down as low as you might think, 46Hz. But probably enough for most music... For any interestate buyers, I would be willing to go half way in transport costs... You do have to see Andrew's workmanship in the flesh to see how much dedication he put into building these. Also Aslan (Andrew) the builder of these speakers is happy to answer any questions that I can't. Pictures: 1

Tony M Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I wouldn't class these as DIY, Defyant. Professionally designed and constructed by a very highly respected manufacturer.
cableconnoisseur Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Can some kind soul 'spot' me $3K plus postage? I'm good for it. Really............ Now if these were my Fathers' day present, it would be the BEST present I've ever received. Good luck with the sale. If memory serves me correctly, the only other pair I saw on sale were Warnsey's ?
