so i took the plunge and bought this player and i can honestly say that i am more than pleased with the purchase. The quality of the sound with sacd's is sublime especially with direct DSD to Analogue conversion, picture quality is also excellent, i can't believe that they can make a machine of this quality for the price they charge. I can highly recommend this player to anyone looking at buying a blu ray player/cd/sacd/dvd audio player. Next step is to figure out how to stream my music collection from foobar to the oppo? any help would be appreciated. One thing that i found is how good my computer sounds(first disc player i have owned since i put this stereo together), i have a Quad core computer with foobar > asus xonar essence stx > coaxial digital > Minimax Plus > Rotel RC-1550 > Rotel RB-1582 > Wharfedale 9.6's the oppo and the Minimax Plus both have the same dac chip and the difference in sound quality between the two is close to zero with cd's and high res recordings but the oppo is better with sacd's. So as you can see i am a very happy camper.Any help with the streaming from foobar will be appreciated. Thanks

not sure re foobar, but it has a simple media player ability, check the manual but if I remember was a button on the remote that brought the interface up, then just matter of finding the media on any networked or usb connected storage and can then playback :)

i have installed the sreaming gizmo into foobar and created the profile but it's the internet access page that i am not sure of as it wants a "public server IP" or "hostname" a "login" and a "password" it is these 3 things that i am not sure about, i have never done this streaming thing before i am sure it is simple but if someone could clarify it for me it would be great

The 95 supports wireless, the above is requiring you to enter LAN settings to be able to connect, how are you connecting the 95 to your computer?

i would like to connect wirelessly but like i said i am not sure what information i have to put into the internet access page of the foobar server component i pretty sure what the public server ip or hostname is i think that is just my ip password i would think is the wireless password but i am not sure what it wants when it says "login" i am sure someone here can walk me through it.

there are a couple of ways of setting up wireless; static (fixed)IP configuration or via WEP or WPA. Im unsure of what login is but it be anything requiring a number of charaters that must be the same in foolbar and on the 95

in the 95 manual look for the instruction to reset default, in foolbar look for the same thing, once you have found how to reset everything to default then try a few things like using a word in Login. Ensure you get this down so you are sure to enter the exact requirements.

The reason I said to look for the reset to default is if you think you have incorrectly typed something wrong and locked it in you know how to reset it to default and start fresh

On your computer, or most would have set it to DHCP or dynamic which the network automatically asigns an IP address. if not then you set an IP address but they must be within range between your computer and 95 and they must be different.

The other settings that it may require is the MAC address, this is unique to all products and is vital if the network is set to DHCP or auto.

OR alternatively set averything to DHCP or auto and find the WEP or WPA settings, this requires a SSID setting (name on the wireless network) and a password. The criteria to setting a WEP or WPA password is different, and if you google it there are WEP/WPA and password generators to generate the 64/128 bit password. You cannot use both WEP and WPA, it must be one or the other.

Hope that helps as I may have confused you further!!!

The other alternative is email OPPO and Foolbar and request some guidance in stepping you through. Note that your computer must also have a wireless capabilitiesas well to connect wireless.

I connect my oppo 93 to a wireless router (next to it) with cat 5 cable. It was easy (I think) - my PC might be wireless, but I haven't tried to make my Oppo wireless (as I don't need to - it is located next to my router).

I have PS3 Media Server installed on my PC for the PS3. I was delighted to find it also works with the Oppo 95. I stream wirelessly both audio and video although it can't keep up with say a Bluray quality movie. The interface on the Oppo is not as good as the PS3 in some ways, however the better audio makes up for that. I found it extremely easy to link the two. I first set up the internet connection through the wireless router, I was then able to select PS3 Media Server from the Network icon / menu on the Oppo Home screen.

PS3 media player will handle most formats. I don't use it with foobar but can stream flac files with ease.
