VA50 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I need some belts for a tape player I'm repairing. What are some good places to order some and what is the correct way to measure them? Thanks
uHenry Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 WES components in Ashfield, NSW. Here's the page for belts. http://wagner.net.au/catalogue/eBook/#/236/
skippy124 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) If you want to get info on belts, try www.turntableneedles.com and select the "tape player belt search" http://www.turntableneedles.com/8-TRACK--TAPE-DECK--REEL-TO-REEL_c_1771.html They have a selection function that will give the details of belts for most decks, and you can then choose the closest belt from WES Cheers John Edited August 27, 2012 by skippy124
surprisetech Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 +1 for WES Components. Great range - easy to deal with.
caddisgeek Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I've dealt with this guy in the past, very good http://www.vintage-electronics.cc/vbelts.html
gamve Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 If the belt is a critical one it needs to be the right thickness width etc. Mars communications in the states sell good quality belts to suit most brands. Essential if you are repairing a Nakamichi.
