Is the laser in the tonearm, or underneath the platter? The comments say it is underneath, but the CDs are shown with the playing side up (although that could just be for the photos).

To my mind, this device doesn't count unless someone has found a way to make it work with the laser mounted in the tonearm (but why would anyone bother?)
