As asked on the other thread, I'll post it here so I can catch up with it.

I bought this a while ago hoping to built my own power amp (4 channel, TK2050), my initial plan was to use switching power supply which I've done and would like to try and use other power supply to see if there's any difference.

After I brought home the transformer, I found there's nothing sort of "menu" of it. Search the net and couldn't find anything that really specifically talking about this.

(Maybe I didn't search hard enough)  :P

So, here it is.

The picture of the transfoermer.

...if i'm not wrong, there should be 3 groups of windings ie pri. 220v ac input, sec 110v and 24v. measure the resistance of all the windings and note the readings. the lowest should be the 24v winding follow by the 110v and 220v should be the one with the highest resistance winding.

I would caution that if the wires have been clipped that short the transformer is likely to be shorted internally or at best internally damaged and thrown away with the wires cut off so that nobody would use it.

If you paid anything for it then about all I would say to use it for is a paper weight.

Transformers are not expensive for what you are needing (24VAC). BUT you still dont give us any info on what this is for other than a TDA2050 4 Ch amp...I would say its going to need something bigger than that sized former...you might be needing a single winding or a centre tapped one ... but hard for anyone to recommend as we need to know exactly what it is you are connection it to.

Ss for the mains side of thing I hope you know what you are doing.

the cable leads are shorter than my hair, wondering how u gonna hook them up properly without compromising on reliability and safety. these are the stuffs that give DIY gears a bad name. :D

Yes, I realise the lead cables are too short.

Tried to pull it longer but it's all in the coil already, looks like this is going to be thrown away.
