jeromelang Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Looking for the cheapest dac in the market. Must have optical (toslink) input. How cheap do they go for these days? And where to buy them? Don't mind 2nd hand. Isn't it shitty that some TVs don't have analog audio outputs anymore?
skong121176 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 You can try FiOO D03 and D07 DAC. Both also less than $100 where the D07 has a DTS/Dolby decoder. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Quest88 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Assume you don't need multichannel.. You mean something like this? US$25. http://dx.com/p/digital-to-analog-audio-converter-adapter-black-117286 Or like this? S$34. http://www.bitemyears.com/fiio-d03k-taishan-coaxialoptical-dac.html Or something like this (more ex than the above): http://www.fiio.com.cn/products/index.aspx?ID=100000039443512&MenuID=105026003

sknight Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I have one for sale...going at $180... I used it for my 2 channel system for over 3 years till I upgraded. I can share more details if you are keen. It has both Coaxial and Optical Input, it also has a built in headphone amp with volume control, XLR / RCA Output... It is made in China and it uses the same chip as Wadia... SMS me at 97713261 if you want a picture of it. It is really good sounding which I upgraded to Bel Canto

silencer13 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Dealxtreme takes ages to ship. You'll probably see it in a month or 3. Just FYI. ;)
wizardofoz Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Just so you know if you are using hdmi input, the digital output from the tv probably wont work. Hdcp is at work here and will screw the best made plans.
