After many many many power cables I've terminated, repaired, tried, researched, studied and observed, I’ve decided to design and build my own version of cables called the MWS Ophidian Series Cables. The MWS Ophidian 9 is based on a 9 cores of pure copper cables braided and terminated in a special configuration to cut out EMI and RFI and other unwanted "noise" to your system. The super solid and thick cable handcrafted and constructed also has an in built noise filtering system and providing unbelievable flexibility too. The super thick conductors ensure minimal resistance for electron flow and maximum current draw when your system requires it. Due the fact that the cable is designed to use for all equipment, it makes it very versatile and a one stop solution for all your equipment. The internals of the cable is from FRANCE, ITALY or Europe region using pure copper. Plugs that are accompanied with the cable can vary from Brass, Rhodium, PURE RED Copper and gold plated plugs and also a new cryogenically treated gold plug. All terminations are electrically tested and then plugged into my very own system to test and run for >3hours before delivery to customers to ensure 100% tip top quality and safety. I'll share some pictures followed by some feedback from Ophidian owners. MWS Ophidian cables now have 3 series: MWS Ophidian 3 MWS Ophidian 5 MWS Ophidian 9 The 3 series will suit various needs and budget of customers. 3 being 3 cores, 5 being 5 and 9 being the thickest at a whopping 9 cores with AWG gauge or about AWG 6 ! Thanks Some reviews of the MWS Ophidian 9 as attached in the thread , There are several more who smsed me to reply: Pangcw:Just bought 2 pcs of Ophidian 9 from yum yum not long ago ....After few hours of running, would like to feedback about this good stuff with everyone. This heavy cable did enhanced overall aspect of sound quality. Think the Signal/Noise ratio increased quite a bit. Background is deadly quiet, better contrast and increased dynamicity quite a lot. Bass in better control & Soundstage seems improved slightly. Perhaps, let me run in another 20 hrs, any further improvement will share that again. In summary, they are great power cables and well worth the price paid and the built quality is also very good. I am a happy customer. My system is as follows: Cambrdge Audio C640 cdplayer (modded by Effective Audio) Cayin A50T (upgrade caps and volume pot) Pioneer Pure Malt Speakers Prior to using the ophidian cables, I found my system slightly bright in the highs and the bass is warm and boomy. I had been quite skeptical about power cables probably due to my prior experience with them as they have a tendency to reduce dynamics. In my quest to cure the slight system brightness in the highs especially when the volume is loud, I decided to try the ophidian 3 on my cd player. The ophidian 3 is quiet without reducing dynamics, I was a little unused to the sound initially and thought that dynamics were reduced, but it was'nt. It is just that the background is much quieter allowing me to listen to more details which I didnt notice before. The slight brightness in my system was reduced, the highs sounded natural and less grainy. In well recorded materials, I could now hear the decays of guitars and pianos allowing me to feel the bodies of those guitars and pianos. Bass was also improved but it seems that the increase in quality and quantity of the bass makes the system even warmer and less controlled in the bass. The system sound much more involving now and I just keep playing cd after cd. But in recordings that had lots of double bass, the boominess and overly warm bass bugs me. Decided to go with the ophidian 9. Again was skeptical that power cords can improve bass.The ophidian 9 was plugged into my Cayin amp. I must say that the Pure Malt Speakers are difficult to drive. Needs plenty of drive to control the long throw woofers. I was wrong again. The power cord did help to control the bass. I could hear more details in the bass and the system is less warm now. With the ophidian 9 in the system, the slight brightness in the system seems to be almost all gone. The background is even quieter and I could hear even more details in the system. The amp seems to have more current supplied and on loud passages, it just seem to have more reserves without the soundstage collapsing. The individual instruments now have more spaces between one another and soundstage is now wider and deeper. Again, involvement in the music goes up one notch. I think both the ophidian 3 and 9 very good products and are well worth the price. Although it did not cure the mismatch I sense between the amp and the speakers, it did help the equipment to perform to its best. Before upgrading or selling the system, do give the power cords a try.
