lobster1624705763 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Just bought one from Laser Flair in I12 Katong; $49.90. 3D & 2D 2-disc edition. Cheers,
francis wu Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Wow, that's really expansive for a local pressed BR! ::)
naglfar Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Bro FW, that shows how long you have not bought a locally pressed bluray. Tha is quite a standard price for a local steelbook ::)
westendboy Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Actually $50 for a steelbook with 3D/2D is alright by me and this film is quite spectacular in 3D
francis wu Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Haha, actually, shy to say but I haven't really bought any BR locally! ;D
n3wk1d Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Not all disc is pressed here, you will be surprise to know that certain studio actually pressed it themselves and send over here for repacking. That's how they control the quality. For this life of pi, the disc is not pressed here. Being sold here doesn't mean its local pressed. The coming hobbit disc also not pressed here.
naglfar Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Bro n3wk1d, got picture of the steel? I might just go to town and get a copy tomorrow...
lobster1624705763 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 http://www.steelbookbluray.com/2013/02/life-of-pi-steelbook-coming-to-the-uk-on-april-29th/ Same cover as the link above with a lenticular magnet; the disc states for zone A and B, I have not tried it yet. Cheers,
n3wk1d Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I did not buy local version as I'm waiting for my Taiwan version. First for Local version trying 3d lenticular magnet card stick on to the front cover of the Steelbook. Pretty cool I would say, hopefully it gets better next title. They are available almost every retail store locally for sgd49.90
econav Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 for $49.90 , half of it goto lic and tax and rental cost.
naglfar Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Bought this.... Packaging is pretty nice. I really like the removable lenticular magnetic piece. Now here is the clincher - I had a quick view at the 3D version of the movie....and all I can say is WOW! Stellar....
kuryakin Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 So is Life of Pi THE new reference disc for 3D pic, sound & storyline? Overall even better than Avatar?
