The brand is pioneer. It can read 'short' disc of less than 40mins, but can't read disc longer than 60mins. Does it mean the laser is weak? Any gurus can advise?

 

Most likely laser moving track need lubrication, silicone grease are best if not use white lithium grease. Apply with a tooth pick or fine cotton bud. While are at it might as well do the same for gears and drawer tracks but do not over do it and avoid the lens.

 

 

 

 

Thank Malsound, I did a little clean of the laser and it seems to solve the problem.
