littletree76 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 This DAC/Headamp was bought on 31-Jan-2011 for SGD [sOLD] from Audio Trio (receipt available). It has been used with iMac computer through its balanced digital XLR input and Stello U3 USB-to-SPDIF converter, Sonos ZP90 zone player through its digital coaxial input and Sony Bravia HDTV through it's digital optical input with great result. Other than the three digital inputs, it provides XLR balanced analog outputs and RCA single-ended analog output with variable and calibrated output levels (calibration done through jumper/trimmer). Thus one line output can be used to drive main amplifier and another line output can be used to drive active sub-woofer. It also provides two HPA2 stereo headphone jacks which are able to deliver high current at high output levels without distortion. The DAC1 is designed and built for maximum transparency and accuracy as reference-quality 192kHz/24bit DAC with UltraLock system to keep jitter of digital input to minimum. Thus no coloration and distortion to affect sound signatures of downstream equipments. Sound quality of this DAC can be enhanced further by modding with components of higher quality.
