Normally you can do so simply by taking back off the watch. With this watch you would need to remove the movement and be mindful of the second hand. Edited May 17, 2024 by awty 1
awty Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 (edited) An old Swiss made Olma Kings time. Has a magnified date window which is cool, proper gold plaiting and a automatic movement. I assume it's a 25 jewel ETA 2472, although the back doesn't want to unscrew without a fight so haven't checked. Found a band that fits, polished the flexi glass and she runs like a bweauty. oldrose Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 My father’s gold watch for 25 years service at GMH. Girard Perregaux Automatic. A very expensive watch in its day and a little too small for me but high sentimental value. 3 3

awty Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 A 1930’s tank watch I had to coax back to life, love the fine blued hands and the discoloured crystal. 4 2
Grizzly Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Serviced recently after being out of rotation for some years (was running very fast). 1965 Sportsmatic with 6619 movement- unpolished and a healthy size for its time! 6

Came very close to pulling the trigger... except I think it is a *tad* too big for my wrist. I have smaller wrists too- about 165mm from memory. Many larger watches look absurd on me but this wears just right I think.
chaddy Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Took my wife shopping in Ginza today. Popped into the Grand Seiko Flagship boutique and was lucky enough to see the Karakuri Clock do its thing on the hour. Then onto the Seiko Dream Square next door where I couldn’t resist their second last Ginza LE Astron. The tech in this watch is amazing. The Seiko museum was by reservation only so had to endure time in the Ginza Uniqlo. 6 1
