Like many here it would seem, I am a watch collector. Today I am wearing a Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon, special edition.

I have 2 specialty areas. One is for mechanical watches that are less well known but interesting and the other is Japan market only or limited edition Citizen Eco Drive watches, mostly in Titanium.

I have about 30 Ecos which have not been seen in OZ and the mechanical watches range form original Poljots to Enicar to Borel, Orient and some 60's Citizen tourneaus and some rare Seikos.

Seems like there is synergy between audio and nice timepieces.

Wow Chewy, any photos of this one, 321 movement and all, very nice :)

Rantan you are right, there does seem to be a correlation between audio and mechanical watches, and red wine too perhaps....l have a small collection, this one is worn most of the time and has been with me now for 9 years. l love its looks and durability.

No photos of the 321 Speedy yet - original '65 hands and tired lume....debating b/w NOS and original hands. Currently with 1171 bracelet but possibly a nice deployment leather strap instead. Due for service but heard alarming things about local dealer.

mondie - smart-looking tool watch - I don't see many Explorer2 on people's wrists. Shame.

I can't find my own pic at the moment of my watch. But here is an image of the same one. It was my engagement present. The deal was if she gets a ring I get a watch.

l am an originality freak, unless the hands really are dragging the appearance of the watch down l would not touch them. Those hands have been on the watch since 1965 and its that history, knowing that you are looking at a watch that has been around for 45 years as is, that's a big part of the attraction to old watches (and cars, and stamps, and a few other things )

Noice!!

I agree with Mondie. Don't swap anything on your ST105.012 unless you have to.

I have mine on a Hirsch black sheep leather strap.

Did anyone catch Jeff Bridges before the awards ceremony last week? When asked if he had any good luck charms he showed them the watch he was wearing. His Fathers Gold Rolex that Lloyd used while filming Sea Hunt (the old Farts will remember that show). A very nice watch with a lot of sentimental value; now that's a watch.

It's sure nice to read about somebody else on this forum that shares my affliction/s for hifi and watches............especially Citizen Eco Drive stillettos........;)

It's great seeing those into high end audio also into other fine things such as beautiful watches. I am sure many would be interested in fine automobiles and probably pieces of finely crafted furniture as well. I have attached some pictures of my poor mans watch collection. I could only ever dream of wearing an IWC or Richard Mile watch.

My watches left to right are, my eta watch used to learn with an online watchmaking course (manual wind), Russian Poljot manual wind with buzzer alarm (sounds like a cricket trying to get out), Orient Auto divers watch(had to get one after learning to dive), citizen auto, Tudor prince oysterdate, and a nice fake chinese A lange & sohne. A russian camera, morgan silver dollar pocet watch, elcazador pocket watch, Boris Vallejo pocket watches in cabinet, and a Ferrari enzo for weekend drives.

Does anyone have one of those shrinking ray guns I could borrow.

Imatation TAG, very accurate looking copy even has Made in Switzerland on the back but it's crap on the second one now and first didn't last that long. Funny thing is I brought a cheap and nasty imatation TAG many years ago from Thailand you could easily tell it was a fake but just could not kill that thing it's still going.

I just watched a video of Steve Wozniak, the guy who invented the Apple computer (as distinct from the other Steve who marketed it). He was at the iPad launch in the US, and he had a rather interesting watch...

No solid state for Steve :nana Yep, that's a tube watch made from nixie tubes. Cool...:P
