I asked the missus to have a look at this thread; "Bout time we got you a new watch I think. We'll layby one soon", she said.- COOL! thanks fellas!

Haha, make it count then!

Pen wise I used to have a nice Mont Blanc biro but I got sick of cracking the case.

In the end I bought a Rotring 600 series Tri-pen (red, blue and mech pencil all in one). It's machined brass with a nickel finish and weighs a tonne but it's strong.

Wowww some very nice watches here!!

One day I'd like to own a nice time piece, but I don't think I could right now...

I can be a bit rough and a nice watch will just get all scratch up if it's on my wrist.

This is the watch I currently have on:

Which Mont Blancs do you guys have? Fountains, or rollerballs?[/b]

Rollerball

With my chicken scratchings a fountain would be a messy waste!

Thank god for computers - wish I was taught a neat script though - a dying art form.

PS Warnesy - I like the swiss army watch - very functional, no fuss watch that is reasonably priced. Classic look to it as well.

It goes without saying the Rolex/TWC/Omega etc offerings are also very sexy - but at a much higher price point. I like my wrist naked :)

Take up calligraphy :) I did ... which is why my handwriting does not look like typical doctor's writing.

Nothing on my wrist either

Kept breaking them and for pharmaceutical industry where I work sometimes, not allowed to wear inside facilities anyway

I use my Blackberry as the timepiece unfortunately

I do have many rolex watches, but they are chinese flavour

Not pens but pencils. One has tiny dice the other coloured sands.

My father used these to wright letters home during WW2.

Ok, you win hands down in the sentimental stakes.

Fortunately for me I haven't yet come to the realisation I need a time piece costing as much as a semi decent car but for the time being, Nixon watches seem to do it for me.

Nixon has some very fancy designs and the laydees love em :)

Interesting thread, I have a armani silver watch,a Maurice Lacroix gold,Longines gold and my current favourite is the Omega chronograph the one that updates the date no matter how many days in any given month.

Hey Keith, what else could we expect from an owner of Acapella ?

German speakers, german watch !

My compliments, very good taste. That movement is a work of art.

I own a Breitling B-1 (Fighter bracelet). I know, it's not mechanical, but I love the look of it and the impression of solidity.

I've also got a Rolex Submariner and an Omega Dynamic. The Portuguese is in another league tough. Unfortunately I can't afford it right now :)

I have a Tag Heuer Kirium with the stop watch (blue face, about 5 years old). Love it except for the date issue as you have mentioned above. Silly me assumed that a watch at this price point would be able to handle the different days in the months.

My wife has a ladies version of this

during her Swiss Army phase in US a few years ago.

Swiss Army luggage, penknifes, etc.

She's also got a couple.. ermm a lot of collector Swatch-es

and a few Rados.

So, there's where all my money has gone

I'll make sure she won't see this thread.

I had a working Patek Phillipe, was my grandpa's.

Can't seem to find it now :/

Now, my wrist is evenly tanned with the rest of my arm.

I like it, looks like my kind of watch  , I've got an old seiko divers 200 that I've had for about 12 years now and I wear it everywhere. It's on the 2nd glass and third band now but still going strong  . My wife gave me a Tag Heuer for our 6th wedding anniversary great watch but only wear it when we go out etc  .

Yeh.... the Seiko 100/200's are a brilliant every day watch. Kinda like the "landcruisers" of the watch world, tough, dependable and they don't mind getting down and dirty in the rough stuff.

I'm only on my second glass (the plastic bits help protect it from scratching) and about the 12th strap, playing squash tends to kill them, this last strap has been the best so far.

I'm the same - the replacement is only the Bling piece for going out- I don't actually use it.

I am just new here.

I currently have two watches. a Tag Heuer Acquaracer and a recently purchased Breitling Navitimer World which I really like.

My next watch purchase might be either a Panerai or an IWC.

It's been a while now so I can't even remember what model it is specifically but it's a Tag Heuer and a part of the Link series (an automatic). I love it and does everything from work, gardening and tinkering on cars  Much to the shock of some, but I figured I paid good money for it so I may as well use it!

Not a watch, but I just got a new pen of my aunty for xmas

It is a Duke - Gold Medal Series which is nicely reviewed at that site. I got the rollerball though, not the fountain. Not sure if the bodies can fit the internals of the fountain - I haven't done any reading. A nice looking pen in very nice packaging though. Write's very nicely with a fine point.

Interesting thread

It seems that us men have a habit of repeating ourselves...

A couple of years ago it was the stereo. Hundreds of hours of research and I ended up with something that I have been very happy with. It was tough but I managed to cut down my time on stereo / ht forums after the purchase and now only frequent every few months.

More recently I became interested in watches (I was getting bored of my Longines Opposition Chrono) and wanted to get something nice (to celebrate the first dividend from my business). Not quite as much research as the stereo but eventually I ended up deciding on a Panerai Luminor Mariner Logo. I ended up waiting 4 months to get one but I couldn't be happier!
