nickonsound Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Im not a big fan of watches, but my GF gave me a Kenneth cole watch last month. I think its nice.
Voltaire Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) http://www.forbes.com/2003/12/03/cx_ns_1203guide.html An Interesting short read from Forbes.com about wrist watches................................................. I have a number of what could be called fine pieces, though one is on my "bucket list".................. Made by the inventor of the first wrist worn chronograph. At a mere $1.5m each, an absolute STEAL!!!!!! V. Edited July 10, 2011 by Voltaire
k-k-k-kenny Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Oh I dunno - if I were looking tourbillonwards, I think I'd prefer the 5101R: http://www.geekwatches.com/patek-philippe/patek-philippe-null-with-10-day-tourbillon So much cheaper, too. Tho I think $325.00 is a wee bit shy of the mark
Voltaire Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 one tourbillon is not enough... 4 is better... Looks like it has facial disfigurement!! V.
rantan Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I cannot compete in any way with the superlative watches above. I have been a collector for many years but have specialised in modestly priced ,mainly mechanical watches form lesser known houses, around the $350-800 USD figure. At the moment I am wearing a Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon officially certified chronograph in a limited edition to celebrate the breaking of an olympic skiing speed record by John "Mad Cow" Hembel. IIRC, only 300 were produced.

humble Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 RLDK - you have some GREAT watches!!! wish list is long, and would include a vintage IWC Ingy
Mr_Gadget Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Hi, i'm off to the US soon and might buy another watch. Any good value for money brands around $1k or less? I was thinking maybe a Hamilton or an Oris.
Nayer Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I am more of a digital watch fan and have a kenneth cole. Yup i know it's not as exotic as watches here but still i like it for that digital touchscreen thing
sjay Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I have the following thus far; TAG SEL (2 tone) Tag Aquaracer Blue face Chrono Tag Link Grey face Chrono Rolex Submariner 2 tone 18k Blue face (97 vintage)
Friocky1 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 A 1975 Seiko 5 automatic, in brass, given to me by an ex-RAF Regiment guy who bought the watch when serving in Belize. Sentimental value, and a great watch!

madamesimplifi Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Has anyone got recommendations for a watch-maker that can service old Seikos in Melbourne? (I have a very old Seiko weekdater) 1
Friocky1 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Not quite the same. I'll take a pic & post it up. It's a day/date with days in either French or English. Originally it had a metal wristband, but this hasn't made it thus far.
xtrachewy Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Has anyone got recommendations for a watch-maker that can service old Seikos in Melbourne? (I have a very old Seiko weekdater) Thankfully most Seiko movements aren't particularly exotic so most watch repairers can probably get the job done (i.e. refer to service manual) - Edward seems to specialize in Seiko/Citizens. bebop Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Great watches in this thread. I normally rotate between my IWC Pilot Chornograph and Citizen Eco-Dive Chornograph. Also have a Azimuth Bombadier V which I really love, but hate the onion crown. Need to find a watch maker to change that crown soon.
mondie Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Wearing my favourite watch today, Chronoswiss Lunar
mondie Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Dave, At a guess 40-41mm but would have to measure it. For me its the perfect size and a gorgeous watch, its my favourite. The sold silver dial with blued hands is a thing of beauty. Here's a better shot....
jaspert Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Classy and gorgeous piece Mondie. Love the blue Breguet hands.
