2100 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Any bros got this EQ? Jason? Does it work ok esp for the infrasonics? Looking at tuning (more like boosting) from 12-20Hz range. My DCX cannot dig below 20Hz. I have an inkling that my source/amp roll things off gently, and even with room gain I wanna sometimes run things hot.
SiriuslyCold Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 what's it mean when it says "subsonic filter"
Jason Yeo Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Any bros got this EQ? Jason? Does it work ok esp for the infrasonics? Looking at tuning (more like boosting) from 12-20Hz range. My DCX cannot dig below 20Hz. I have an inkling that my source/amp roll things off gently, and even with room gain I wanna sometimes run things hot. Been using it for quite a while . It is quite good and flexible esp I need the subsonic and phase(0 to 180) features for my MK sub . Subsonic feature can nicely roll off the freq without affecting the neighbouring freq . Unlike the BFD , if try to bring down a freq , it will affect neaby freq as well . I need to roll off my MK sub below 30hz nicely so this feature suit me . My MK sub is a phase switch (0 and 180) only so this phase knob can fine tune and let me improve the bass balance in my room . Ofcoz SvS owner comes with a phase knob already . There is only 2 PEQ filters , 10-50hz and 50-100hz to tune . Yes , you can boost the 10 - 20 hz but it is not very advisable since you are taking a risk to BO your sub . Infrasonic depends on subs characteristic and not EQ . EQ cannot improve infrasonics if the sub not capable of . The only downside is you will need a step down transformer unless you modify the adapter . Another bro has bot it recently but no times to hook up yet ;D
2100 Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 Wah siao liao, need step down transformer huh. Can assist to chk what voltage, DC or AC, current? Yup, need the sub to be capable of it in the first place. Awaiting some new subs to come out first, or going to DIY a Earthquake 15" active, 2x18" PR type of sub. See first. But before embarking just doing homework on the EQ, hence this.....the eQ.2 would provide decent BO protection below tune.
