badbad2000 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I have ordered Denon AVR-1909 and B&W 685. Is there a lot of different if I use $6.5 per meter speaker cable compare with $15 per meter? Is there a lot of quality different if I at plug at the speaker cable for convenient plug in/out? The sales said 10% improve of quality if better quality cable, not sure if it is worth. hope to hear your comments. :)
jasonteong Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 hi, just wondering, is it a B&W reseller that promised you? Hopefully not one of my sales person. I think the fundamental issue is what type of cable, what build, grade and what's the guage. Price is not the only determinant. Also what improvement are you looking for. thanks jason
badbad2000 Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 i just got the cable model, chord classic and chord silver screen. Is the sound quality will be different by using silver screen than classic? bear with me... really a newbie here.
badbad2000 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 anyone? know this 2 type of cables? Is bi-amping recommend for B&W 685? :-\
cn9601 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Bro, since u oredi got your stuffs, juz hook it up and sit back to ENJOY ;D take note it takes time to break-in or run-in your system. Bear with it and ENJOY it day-by-day, week-by-week. I had tried different type / brand / price of spkr cable and Interconnect. Even my current Chord HDMI costed me around $200++ But I am also running $6.50/m Belden 1313A spkr cable. Chk out tis forum to learn some tips and treats. You are likely to try out different things, and upgrade something gradually. Remember the Price Tag also - not necessary expensive cable or I/C will do sonic wonder. You need to know and appreciate your system characteristics and behaviour ;D Bi-Amp or Bi-Wire? Anyway, juz SEARCH tis forum, and u will get a whole load of constructive info.
SiriuslyCold Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 i agree w cn9601 listen first with the stock cables, get used to the sound. then you can try other cables in the future and hear if there is a difference or not
vink Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I say the same too. Try to familiarize and appreciate the sonic characteristics of your system so that if something new is introduced, you should able to differentiate between a change versus an improvement. Otherwise you keep going round in circles.
badbad2000 Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 haa.. thanks for advise. but only have feedback after i got the system. settle on chord silver screen. I think I will slowly adapt to the way of the speaker sound instead realizing the changing if any due to run-in. I dont think my hear can keep track the minor sonic wave change. chuckles. :P unless there is equipment on sound testing??
cn9601 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 (ahem) y u wanna to believe in something when u oredi hav a pair of God-gifted EARS. not sounding blunt or rude, but if u cant pick up the sine wave of sound naturually thru yr own ears, y u wan to 'bluff' yrself by reading these nbrs produced by machine ??? Ppl who rely on machine is for commercial purpose, so tat evrybody can make 'sound' decision. (but there are times we need gadget to set a baseline.....but-but thereafter most of us rely on our ears, heart, mind & soul in general ;D ) Bro juz ENJOY yr system, and chk out tis forum for some constructive tricks & treats. and then use yr own EARS to make sound decision to upgrade yr system in the near FUTURE ;) I dont think my hear can keep track the minor sonic wave change. chuckles. :P unless there is equipment on sound testing??
