Spunky Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 just call them. They quote me 2k. I remember its bout 1.7 something only. Why different pricing. damn perhaps gotta do with the increase in the price of rice! ;D Now, joke aside, apparently there's a price diff for the diff wood finish...or is it $2k for the black now?

Not sure with that, but will check and ask again this weekend. I believe the brown color more exp. Increase is ok, but 300 increment within 6 months is too much. Any bro using this? Seems difficult to get second hand for this speaker

They perform well in smaller rooms as compared to halls. I have enquired about this speakers before and it is definitely under $2k, unless there has been a price hike recently that I was unaware of. I have heard them with tubes and tube/ss combo setups, and they sounded as good as I can remember. Quite easy to break in also, given the smallish woofer. No second hand for this speaker is actually good news, since that means plenty of people actually like them enough to keep them (many sold in Sg, as far as I know). If Diana Krall owns a pair of them, you know that it must be something special tonally, at least with piano pieces. No harm just stepping in to Audionote and check again. For best prices, go with or know someone who is a regular with them, and/or pay in cash rather than credit.

It will a very usefull information for me. I am using MIC tube atm.
Hitokiri_Battousai Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Their quoted prices are usually before discount. I can't remember exactly how much already, but less than $1.9-$2k, this I'm certain.
SiriuslyCold Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 these are awesome speakers. if i had a dedicated stereo system listening room, it would be Arros
