Hi All,

1. Pls advise if any one has enc. this problem with the above s/ware.

Wanted to rip d "greatest basso cd" onto my pc found error reading during ripping, altho it still read track 1 to 11. It can be played but just won't create cue sheet. Try one other mic cd, OK ... not such problem. Try window media palyer on the basso cd .. can rip in wma format without problem.

??????

2. is EAC the best s/ware  to duplicate cd??

if not, pls recommend another s/ware.

appreciated...

EAC has plenty of options. Better look through that you have set the correct options for your drive for example, including read offset.

EAC is the best to rip, not duplicate. Only really matters if you want to keep in WAV or FLAC. Else just select others if you want mp3.

Hi Quest

thanks for the explanation.. check the EAC option.. no change

but found the problem.

ie if I create the folder in Chinese characters, the EAC s/ware will not recognise it..

Btw...Quest

so what is std audio cd format???

Is there other s/ware that can duplicate a cd and at the same time store these files in the hddsk?

what do u mean 'standard audio cd format'?

audio cd format is WAV. up to you how you want to compress.

not sure about duplicating cds. usually people who want to do exact copies store in iso.

Was talking about our normal audio cd tat we buy off from cd shop.

Think iit is call redbook cd, something like tat.

And how do u store in ISO?

I still don't understand what you mean. 'Red book' is a standard including track length, no. of tracks, etc.. It's a 2-channel signed 16-bit PCM sampled at 44,100 Hz. Does that answer your question..

I've not tried using ISO for music CDs, but have tried it for movie DVDs or software CD/DVDs. Good luck. Frankly FLAC or other lossless file formats are good enough for backing up your CDs, but you may have issues in writing back to CD from lossless if I am not wrong. Not familiar with burners as I hardly use them.

If no space limitation can just keep it in WAV.

Hi

Just playing around with EAC and trying to find the best way of outputting AIFF.

Seems to be 2 methods but having some trouble with the right command line options. Can anyone translate these command lines to be used by the latest version of EAC? Not sure if its just a case of replacing "%d" with "%dest% for example.

1. For itunesencode:

-e "AIFF Encoder" -a "%a" -l "%g" -t "%t" -g "%m" -y %y -n %n -i %s -o %d

2. For SoX it is this:

-t wav %s -t aif %d

Cheers!

Yeah, I'm just experimenting :D

EAC has a dedicated encoder for FLAC, the AIFF output is a bit of a work around. Just trying it out to hear which sounds better.

Always thought I preferred aiff but perhaps not if the rips are flawed.

Anyway.. I got it to work though it does display an error message when the script is tested in Preferences (but the rip seems to be going fine).
