Tape Out receiver to Power Amp input

hi guys, just like to seek your advise, will the connection work.. for example I have an old receiver which has no pre-outs which im planning to use as a preamp.. instead i'll be using the tape out to connect to the input of the power amp. is this workable? and no damage whatsover on my power amp/receiver will happen?  :) thanks

The tape-out signal bypasses the tone controls and volume control.  What you are feeding the power amp is the full signal from the front-end components, i.e., at full volume.  You want it so loud?  Can your speakers cope?
