wuga98 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 anyone using this HT system? and any feedback. Thanks. :D
dbchoong Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Used to have this set (very early version). Current version is ProCinema 1000, if I'm not wrong. Overall pretty good sub-satellite speakers. Performs best for home theater. Not great for music (stereo). Subwoofer is quite good, but only for small to mid-sized rooms. Will not perform well in a large area (such as living room) - which is why I sold mine away. Are you planning to buy this 2nd hand?
Ong Hai Peng Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I have the earlier model as well. They sounded like speakers way bigger than their size suggest. They are excellent for home theatre purposes if space is a premium. They remained the best of the satellite speakers I have heard thus far, and the list includes the very popular MS and KEF packages at similar price point.
wuga98 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Thanks choong, i am considering this for my living room, not sure if used set is coming into the market yet but from what i heard they are pretty new in the SG market. I am a little disturb by your comment about it not performing in a living room. Care to elaborate. The procinema comes with the 600 and 800 mix as well. Thanks. ;D Used to have this set (very early version). Current version is ProCinema 1000, if I'm not wrong. Overall pretty good sub-satellite speakers. Performs best for home theater. SiriuslyCold Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Procinema 600 has a tiny but solid sounding subwoofer. probably works best in a bedroom
basspundit Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 You might want to see whether you can upgrade the sub to the Supercube series, those are quite pricey but they do give you a lot of bass.
dbchoong Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I am a little disturb by your comment about it not performing in a living room. The sub is actually very good. It performed great in the living room in my old place (3 room HDB). After shifting to a 5 room unit with a large living room (6m x 4.5m), it was severely under-powered and was not able to fill the room. So, if your planned area is not too large, the sub will do just fine. But of course, if you wanted more kick, upgrading the sub is something to consider. :)
kuryakin Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 If its any indication, I have the older & smaller model Pro100 Centre speaker. It has been faithfully serving my HT needs for years now. You may wish to use the Def Tech official website to get a feel on the prices. Simply convert the USD to SGD. Its about there.
