mikeang88 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 hi guys, as you probably have seen from my other thread, i have been looking for an CD player, warm sounding within my budget of $300 - 500 .. now more or less decided on either Marantz CD6002 which have been given very good review and sounds ok and the NAD C542 which is raved also by many but slight out of my budget in the range of $600... Any one has experience with the above? Is it good? Thanks
kelccm Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I think both CD players are good. It all depends on your sound preference. Both have slightly different sound signature. Pick one that sounds the nicest to you.
mHiFi Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 you can try it at SLS 1st level City Audio. If you like warm sounding, under the same price range, the guy there will recommend you the tangent CD player (http://www.tangent-audio.com). They can event let you compare before buying.
mikeang88 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 thanks i tried the Tangent.. it wasn't warm.. it was mellow to the extend of sounding quite flat... tried the Marantz CD6002, it was great except it wasn't the sound i was after... a bit too dynamic and a little bright.. so guess what i ended up, NAD 542 ... sounded just like what i was after... but was using the stero amp and not my Onkyo AV 605... so guess will have to discount a bit.. still in my car, can't wait to try it out tonight... cheers
