Friends

The number of SVS users increase with each successful MO conducted - kudos to Quest

I hope fellow owners esp the pros can share their experience, settings and for the sake of new owners, so they:

a - don't kill their new subs

b - don't kill their ears

c - get killed by their neighbours

d - infect more bros with their poison....

I kept my volume on my SR 12 low first, going to -35 to 30db max, set the bass limit to -35db and the dial on my PB 12+ to 9 o'clock and let it run in. I spent the next few weeks to months perfect the position.

As the pros like Jag Jason Yeo etc will tell you, the room treatment and postion is just as important. If you just plonk your new sub anywhere, or next to a wall / open window or available space, you won't get the same effect as if you took a lot more care.

Good luck!

There are a few new cylinder owners now, and FYI there is no protection circuit unlike the box ones, even for box owners, take care with your new subs :)

Aiyo, didn't know the SVS cylinders differ from the box subs in this very important aspect!

Is there a contraption that I can use externally to replicate the missing protection circuit?

My is a 2nd hand PB10-ISD.

Have been tweaking/playing it with my bare ears since i got it 2 months ago. Finally fixed my volume between 11-12 o'clock for HT/pop; electronic music, sometimes, i turn down to between 8-9 o'clock for easy listening if bass is too overpowering. Amp setting is 0dB though...heehee.

Did not find any difference for the phrase position until recently i did some testing again. I turned the phrase all the way full for the "thump' effect.
