anyone know where I can get a Squeezebox 3 Powersupply ? I've misplaced the current one and would like to get a replacement. Anyone know if the outer power connecter is plus and inner is minus or the other way round ?

Just any one of those generic power supplys will do. I previously used a travel adapter with variable amp/voltage bought in Funan and it did fine.

Can't remember what are the details but I'm sure u can find it online.. plenty of SB3 owners change to a better power supply directly after purchase.

I just had a power supply done by James of eamod, collected back over the weekend in fact.

You can probably ask him about the polarity, but I think it might not be an issue. Afterall they give you a two-pin plug.

How much was it? :) I won't mind buying one from him as well.

Since my external 3rd party one blew I been using the default.

thanks Quest. I have a travel adapter and they have settings for +5 volts on the outer ring or ground on the outer ring of the DC connector. Not sure which setting to use, ie. +5 volt on the outer ring or gnd on the outer ring. Would be great if you can check yours and let me know.

The standard Squeezebox power supply should have a diagram like this:

+ve --( o -ve    this means that the outer ring is +5 volts.

or

-ve --( o +ve  this means that the outer ring is gnd.

since I lost my power supply, don't have access to the diagram.

This has to be correct, else my Squeezebox will be fried if I put in the wrong polarity for the DC power supply.

does he do Squeezebox DAC mods for analog output ? I would like to bring the SB analog out to another level. Anyone knows anyone here that do mods for the Squeezebox 3 analog out ?

He has to build one once you order from him, it comes in an aluminium 6x4x2" box.

Price depends on what you're getting done with him, the power supply alone costs 300+

btw checked the wall-wart that came with the sb3 and it shows

-ve --( 0-- +ve

my squeezebox was already modded by Vinnie at RWA so only asked James to change some wires and rca to bnc.

here you khewa - a picture of my SB3 PSU

Here is a locally available replacement which should perform better than the stock PSU since its a linear power supply - go for the 10W version
