2100 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Can read your first two links. Too bad, the Chinese don't do more driver companies like Swan spks (HiVi), Silver Flute and Fountek, which produces pretty low cost but good value stuff. Good to see one speaker in there using prosound drivers.
Darthfunk Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Francis you went to catch it right? Field report please :)
Guest francis woo Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 HR was right. The amount of Tube gears on display is really mind-boggling. Never seen so many tubes in my life. Wish I had the moolahs to buy and try them all out. But the most interesting encounter I had was at the Roksan showroom. This guy Touraj Moghaddam, a design and technical director of Roksan was demoing their new Platinum series of CD player and power amp together with a TT. He played my favourite SRV's Tin Pan Alley number first on CD and then on the TT, the difference was astonishing. The analog version was so engaging and lively, you can feel yrself in the midst of the concert hall. The CD version did not give me that kind of feeling. Think I will have to revive my Linn and start going analog again. His last parting words to me was always to go bi-wire, his analogy, take yr bathroom heater supplying cold and hot water to the showers, two pipes better than one..................... :)
