insomia Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Hi, Was wondering anyone know who is the current local agent/reseller for the sanyo? like to take a look at how it performs.. cheers
HT102 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hawko is the local distributor of Sanyo HT projectors. Unfortunately, Z2000 will not be available in Sg until early next year. If you really keen to get a 1080p LCD PJ now, I believe they can arrange comparisons of AE2000 vs HC6000 vs TW1000.
insomia Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 thanks for the info.. was interested in the sanyo mainly because of the len-shift and 2x zoom plus the short throw lens which i am quite limited.. will have to wait till next year then.. cheers
HT102 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 You may want to reconsider your choice on the Sanyo after reading this review: http://www.users.on.net/~crumpet/shoot%20out.doc
insomia Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 thanks for the headsup.... so far i only read the review from projector central which may be bias... guess the only way to tell is to see it for myself
DizzyD1624705734 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 For D7 LCD Panel...Do consider TW2000 and AE2000 as well. I have seen this 2 here in HK and have decided on TW2000 for the following subjective reasons. ;D - Black looks more inky than AE2000. This is comparing nite scenes of HD DVD Transformers on TW2000 versus Casino Royale BD on AE2000. Not sure if this is the deep black technology of Epson that boast a 50,000 CR. - In terms of sharpness they are the same but TW2000 seems to be punchier for the colours and day scenes. - Chassis of TW2000 is smaller and sleekier than the bulky industrial looking AE2000. - Most subjective one is D7 is developed by Epson and they may have some tricks in their sleeves versus panny or sanyo. - Most irrelevant reason to you is that I will be getting a HDTV tuner box free that will output 1080p via HDMI for HK free to air broadcast channels. Both panny and epson is around SGD4 k here. My 2 cents.
insomia Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 seriously, i have not experienced 1080p PJ yet..(i know, sua ku) has not really started my shopping.. wanted to do more research before going down to view.. thanks for the input... :)
desray Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 When buying Projector...nothing beats the overly-used quip, "Seeing is Believing"...See for yourself and see whether you like it or not. Period!
insomia Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 totally agreed! its the same as choosing a women... beauty lies in the eyes of beholder.. hahah cheers
imbest Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 When buying Projector...nothing beats the overly-used quip, "Seeing is Believing"...See for yourself and see whether you like it or not. Period! sorry ah, what do you mean by "overly-used quip"?
Corona11 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 sorry ah, what do you mean by "overly-used quip"? Is a cliche.
Jagdpanzer Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 The Sanyo Z2000 is here already but the price is an unattractive S$4.5k with 3 yrs wty. 500 bucks more expensive than to bring in from Hivizone.

Jagdpanzer Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Just arrive today according to Seng Heng Adelphi.Really tempting.
insomia Posted December 15, 2007 Author Posted December 15, 2007 wooow.. $4.5k.. hmm, importing from price japan is below $4k but there is no warranty.. are they having a demo unit?
tsammyc Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Looks like this is the one everyone is going to get ;D
Jagdpanzer Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 No demo yet.Was told stock just arrived in Sanyo Singapore. If really 3 year wty, then it might be worth getting from here.
insomia Posted December 15, 2007 Author Posted December 15, 2007 yeah.. i believe this is one of the best short-throw pj around.. i dont have luxury of distance more than 3m.... and lense shift is important too.. read some review that mentioned that z2000 don't handle dark scene as well as the ae2000 but i got to see it with my own eyes.. :)
