My sub was a 10' which was conseal type - meaning without port hole.I am encountering air escaping from the swtiches and connector etc from the rear of my sub whenever movie or music was played. Its was quite irritating for the noise produce by the escaping air /air leaking.

Does anyone know any shop in s'pore able to re-seal these connector or switches inorder to prevent noise from the escaping air ??

I know some shops in SLS provide these service but no idea on what is the shop name and which lever is it? :(

There should be a partition that separates the amp from the cabinet. I believe the problem is with the partition. Why don't you try to open up the amp (unplug first ;) ) and see if there's anything leaking. If you find the source, just get a clear glue/sealant from homefix or even a neighborhood hardware shop to fix the leak. You can just seal all the joints/cable inlet anyway.

Pardon me asking, but did you buy your speaker from the back of some van?

Whatever you do, don't ever buy a Bose.

Hi GUYS , appreciate for the advise.I did not bought from the van.My sub was tannoy mercury mx10.I got this from someone meaning i m not the first owner but really impressive on the performance except for this issue. If i m not wrong this sub was quite sometime back therefore aging on its seal might be the reason.

Tannoy Mercury MX10, you say? Aaah. Now we're getting somewhere. The way some of you forumers seek help & advise yet furnish so little information kinda reminds me of some Geylang field reports on Sammyboy's Alfresco Coffeeshop. Trying to recommend the brudders a good time but deviod of critical useful info.

If it's a Tannoy sub, chances are that the plate amplifier is just stuck on to the chassis. Hence air leakage thru the various switches and sockets. What you have to do is to prise open the plate amplifier, by force is necessary as it could be glued on. Then with either a silicon sealant or caulk, plug all suspected holes with it. Simpler subs do not have a separate enclosure for the plate amplifier.
