monstertruck Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 may i know what's the purpose of some stock plastic plugged in between the pre-out and main-in for integrated amplifiers? and i guess it's advisable to change to a copper one right? what is the effect and end-result of it? how do you go about DIY the 'plug' in the first place? Thanks!!!
Guest memoir_acoustics Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 These are used to deactivate the pre out and main in function of the integrated. With them connected, your amp functions as an integrated. When you want to add another Power amp, or use the integrated as a dedicated Pre amp, you remove them. You can make some interconnects of 0.2 - 0.5m with your favourite RCAs and replace the stock ones. Sonic improvements of about 5-8% claimed by some. Regards

Regards thanks, Lukey! your answer really helps me a lot! seems like DIY-ing the short interconnects to plug in between sounds really fun. it's fun to know that there's so much more to simple-looking equipments. heh i need to acquire the know-how first.

SiriuslyCold Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 my old NAD had just a piece of square C shaped metal for each channel. don't think you could get any shorter than that as far as signal path goes
