dannyhgt Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Is there any reason why the Americans cannot crack the code? :(
petetherock Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 More like why should they. The US market is huge, hence region free doesn't affect them as much. Hence owning a region free player is not a must since they are less likely to ask for a R6 or R3 disc. Plus their machines cannot play PAL discs anyway. Good find Sam Is there any reason why the Americans cannot crack the code? :(

It's also because in Australia, the law says it is illegal to create region locks. Something to do with free trade and anti-competition, I gather.
