moonwalker Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 hi, I just bought a pair of square base stands, but unfortunately that my floor is not perfectly flat, hence it s not stable... What should I do? put something underneath will effect the sound? Thanks a lot
ohlins Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 put 3 carrom seeds/chinese chess pieces or whatever u can find under the stands....... put 3 pieces never 4 and all will be stable....
benzx Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Are your stands spiked? If yes, then you can adjust the height of the spikes to make it stable.
moonwalker Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 yes, my stands are spiked but seem not adjustable :(. I have put some plastic floor mats underneath and looks more stable now, but the problem is, when I put the speaker on the stands, bass seems drop significantly ???, my speaker (sound dynamics 300ti) is 3 drivers with 8'' woofer, 35hz -22khz, bass quite powerful before... what should I do? Thanks a million p/s: it s a 22'' stand which is quite heavy, 22kg each, 10''x10'' top
petetherock Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Hi I suggest you use small 5c coins instead to isolate and elevate the stands. A more dead stand also cuts down on the bass a bit, its a balance. http://www.xtremeplace.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=44869.msg350204#msg350204
moonwalker Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 thanks for your advice, put a 50c under 1 of a spike for each stand and seems better now ;D, bass improved a bit but still far less than before, maybe I will try put the bluetack between speaker and stands.
weibchen Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 where did you buy your stands? i'm looking for my surround speaker sats which is much like the omnisat design.. ikea ones sold out, went to AVTlink don't have that design which supports it.
moonwalker Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 got mine used, at a reasonable price ;D, luckily it matches my speaker...but too heavy...
