Darthfunk Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Btw how much must i pay to upgrade from the digital set top to HD set top? Also any additional charges for HD channels?
FookLai Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Btw how much must i pay to upgrade from the digital set top to HD set top? Also any additional charges for HD channels? Bro, $99 for HD Box if you sign contract for 12 months, $15.00 per month for HD channels ($16.05 with 7% GST). Fook Lai
ahhian Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 Must sign contract than can get HD box ah, hmmm, now got to think about it liao... Bro, $99 for HD Box if you sign contract for 12 months, $15.00 per month for HD channels ($16.05 with 7% GST). Fook Lai
armoury Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I didn't watch any HD footy on Saturday, on Sunday I switched over occasionally to have a look, but since it was West Ham v. Totts, mainly to see if the Totts were going down in flames... As ever, hi def is a revelation. But during half time, the signal was getting interrupted, with pixellation and a pink band showing up at the bottom, and later in the second half when I swtiched over again I realised it was in SD rather than HD. Technical glitch at Starhub?
FookLai Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Yes, before the match kick off the signal was getting interrupted already and during half time also the same. I think some transmission problem from their supplier to them. Fook Lai I didn't watch any HD footy on Saturday, on Sunday I switched over occasionally to have a look, but since it was West Ham v. Darthfunk Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Hmm what if i just want the HD box is there any advantage over the Digital set top? Paying extra $15 on top of what iam paying every month and with only 3 contents to watch is abit expensive man!
scoobydoo Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Kinda disappointed with the way the HD EPL is being implemented, ie have to pay extra just for a few selected matches.
kzone Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 checked throught the program guide & no shows on CH303 except those 2 live matches... no pre-match shows, re-runs etc?

HDMI output and you don't have to pay monthly rental for Digital box since you bought it. If you are a football fan, it is priceless.

SH need to recover the $250m they paid for EPL rights... they know that once you see it, you will want it. Wonder if there was a long queue of red-shirted chaps outside SH shops on Sunday morning....
yellowhandman Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 i recently went down to SH to swap a dead digital box, and was very tempted to switch to HD. but in the end, i decided $15 more per month wasn't worth it just to see a couple of matches each week in HD. however, having read this thread, I wonder if i made the wrong choice, because i didn't factor in that i wouldn't have to pay for the digital box rental anymore...so $15 more for the HD (not counting cost of the box itself), but $10 less 'cuz i can get rid of my additional digital box. sigh...another visit to SH soon, i guess.
redders Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Starhub should convert the whole soccer channel 27 to HD instead of just a few match:P
yellowhandman Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Starhub should convert the whole soccer channel 27 to HD instead of just a few match:P i don't think all the matches are being FILMED in HD. even in the UK, only certain games are in HD.

You'd still pay rental on the "second" box. The first box was free anyway, but even though it's now replaced by an HD box you notionally own yourself, the freebie for the first box doesn't apply and you still pay for the second. Something to do with the fact that two boxes allows for access to two different channels at the same time at different locations, rather than literally being rental for the box. As an aside, according to the online programme guide it seems that Newcastle v. Arsenal on Wednesday night/Thursday morning is on HD! Yay!
htfreak Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Anyone else seeing severe ghosting effect of the background during the 1st half of the liverpool match. Seems like the quality is getting worse and worse. Similar artifacts during last weeks match as well.
