Phil1624705739 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I'm not joking. Try out chapter 1 shotgun scene but remember to active 5.1 MLPCM soundtrack. ;D Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you thrashed your subwoofer. Phil
Guest tonytakitani Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 For those looking to callibrate their displays, the Ratatouille BD comes with a rather extensive set of video callibration screens (with instructions), much better than the 7669 bonus screens found in Sony BDs. btw, I didn't see it in the cinemas because I know I'll be getting the BD, but wow, IMO Ratatouille is an instant classic. If they ever give out Oscars to non-live actors, then Remy would be nominated for Best Actor and Anton Ego for Best Supporting Actor. I found the last scenes especially poignant and memorable.
Doggie Howser Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Wow, the bass on this was simply amazing. Works brilliantly well with the Crowson shakers. With the Crowson amp, the rumbling had a very "stereo" effect. Many times I felt I was thrown off the sofa! My PB12ISD/V didn't sound like it was bottoming out, but then I have unplugged my DEQ and now using Audyssey to do EQ for the sub.
DIRTRUN Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Wow, Tat great ah... Must push tis to de top of my hv-but not watched list.. BTW IMO its de best animated movie of de year...I watched in de cines Cheers Dirtrun
Guest jonlee Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Good bass, but did not bottom out my SVS. My guess because I'm no longer using BFD...else think will bottom out like Phil.

I'm using velodyne sms1 to control my subs. The shotgun scene has alot of midbass but at no times it bottoms out my svs subs unless of cos your sub is calibrated super hot. ;D ;D In fact an earlier scene of the lightning strike is even deeper in bass. Super shiok. ;D Anyway pixar has a hit again with this great animation. The details in glorious high def is just superb. Can watch over and over again just to admire the details. :D

Jason Yeo Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Actually, I'm not using the BFD too! But I set the LFE 3dB higher than Audyssey's recommendation. Phil= DVE or Bro , your bass definately not 3db hot ...only ;D. I am pretty sure it is more than 10db hot . Due to your room size , there will have some nulls on your current position . So the measured bass on current seating position may not be accurate to determine the level . Use the conventional method , SPL + DVE or AVIA , measure behind the seat and see how hot . I believe the hottest is to the rear right corner of your room . ;D When you started this thread , I am not surprise you BO the sub after I watched my ratatouille. You remember I told you you got very hot mid bass? ;D The current built in Audyssey is no good at auto calibrating bass . This is why I still like the BFD and my own calibration method ;D
