Best place to buy Denon in Singapore?

Recommended Posts

Which is the shop with the best prices and good service on Denon here in Singapore?

Is it KEC?

I'm looking at getting a 3808 receiverand a 1940 dvd-player this weekend.  :D

Anyone know what the latest street prices are for those two?

I thought of getting 3808 as well.... but onkyo 875 also a good choice

too many good reviews on onkyo 875...

Can I know why do you choose 3808?  ;D

Well, the very high temps on the 875, problems with audio glitching bugs that seem more annoying than the bugs on the 3808 which seems to be mostly with ethernet and internet. I've read through the entire 875 and 3808 threads at avforums.com and avsforum.com.

Other advantages with the 3808 is the USB, the looks, the GUI and it weighs less. With the 875 in my suitcase i would have gone above the 30kg limit for my baggage!

Going through the shops at Sim Lim Square today I was offered a combo deal for the 3808 + DVD-1940 for $2299 which I thought was pretty good at World Audio Centre.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Adelphi to see if they can offer me a better deal!

In case you are not familiar with the abbreviation.. SLS refers to Sim Lim Square.

There is also a AV shop on the 3rd floor of SLS that priced Denon, Marantz and Onkyo sets competitively.

Well, none of the shops at The Adelphi would match the price I got from World Audio Centre at SLS so I went back there and they would not honor the price they had given me in writing yesterday!  >:(

What a bunch of a*****es!

I'll try city electronics tomorrow and see what they say and also look for an AV shop on the 3rd floor there...

Best price I got at KEC was $2359 incl GST.
