Dred Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi Gurus, Here is a poser, if given a choice with minimal budget issues, would you spend the money on a amp with a reon chip in it or rather buy a dvd player with the reon chip? Whichever ever combo your answer is, can please give me your reasons. I can't decide myself. Thxs guys.
Bono1624705732 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I guess it depends on how many sources you have that requires the function of the Reon... If plan to connect cable tv, existing dvd player, etc, would be obvious to get the receiver. If you don't have other video sources then a player would suffice... What about the cost? Both options are not priced the same right? May have to factor that in too.
imbest Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 sometimes must also sit back and think again. Do you think even with Reon the top of the line chip can really serve the purpose effectively? I have given up hope on all the extreme upscaling already......imagine how blur it is from 480i/576i -> 1080p compared to a WXGA panel with minimal upscaling? but if you're already on full HD panel......bohbian liao lor.
HT102 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Receiver as well. IMHO, more money spent in a better display would be even more helpful if PQ is of highest priority.
audiovideo Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 BR player or recorder with reon chip ;D prefer to connect player direct to TV...why go through receiver??
