So what was the first movie that you've ever watch at the cinema.

Does anyone else remember this little flick

Mine...if memory has not failed me, was Curly Sue. I was just a kid...of course it had to be a family comedy type of movie. It wasn't a huge blockbuster or anything but hey I can still pretty much remember the main storyline too. An orphan girl and her homeless guardian cons and crashes at a rich lawyer's apartment...and I found it to be a fun movie and enjoyed it very much (then and I guess now too)...Certainly memorable enough for me to remember it all these years (Hah..of course I think I must have watched it at least once after that...when it was shown on tv...bout maybe 7 years ago) I think I even remember where I watched it...It was one of the theaters at Bedok...I think its the one thats now a football club or something right?...Hah...remember those days where all the movie theaters are one whole buildings...not part of shopping centers as they are now...Ahh those were the days...

So what's your first movie?

I think it's King Kong or Jaws... can't remember now.

What about the 1st movie that you watched on your own without companion? Mine was 'Amazing Stories' by Steven Spielberg.  :D Ticket price was $2.50 at that time. ;D

The first movie I've ever watch at the cinema.... i  must ask my mother.  I am probably a toddler in my mum's arm.  Knowing she is such a movie buff,  I won't be surprised if I have been dragged along at least one.  ;D ;D  What about adding "that I remember" to the topic?

Don't really remember what was the 1st movie I watched in a cinema, as my parents started bringing me to the cinema when I was very young. But my early impression includes:

" Luke, I'm your father......" ;D

Can't remember what movie but I was a small kid and it's black and white, cantonese and some kung fu flick that attack their opponents with their palm.....the "power of the palm" is illustrated by coloured strokes in the black and white movie.

Common cinemas my parents brought me to were Jubilee (New World in Geylang); Globe and Sky theatre in Great World and Venus and Golden City in Queenstown and Capitol Theatre opposite Raffles City -I remebered watching the Beatles' "Help" there.

The first movie I got to go alone was a double bill features James Bond at Lido (Viva James Bond festival) - Thunderball + From Russia with Love.

Too long ago.......... can't recall.

Think it would have to be one of those Taiwan Romantic movie by "Chiong-Yao" starring either "Lin-Ching-Sia" "Lin-Fong-Jiao" "Ching-Siang-Lin" or "Ching-Han".  My mum brought me along whenever she went for movies.

i had long wanted to post in this thread, but i'm afraid i may draw some giggles or guffaws over here. hahaha

do you all still remember the chinese kid film 'Xiao Bing Bing' in the late 80s? i suppose that's my first film ever, and despite that the financial situation is less than desirable at that time, my parents brought me several times to the cinema in Bukit Merah to watch this (albeit watching repeatedly some of the Xiao Bing Bing movies in which i was never tired of).

ok, those times the tickets were still comparatively cheap and affordable, and i think the tickets for these re-run kid shows were cheaper than the rest back then.

couldn't find anything on Xiao Bing Bing in the net. could i be wrong? hahahhahahha

The first one that I can recall is "Salem's Lot". I think I was around 9 years old and went to this show with my mom and younger brother (6 years old).

My mom a bit bizzaare hor... heheh

I remember not being able to sleep for a week but since then have been hooked on good vampire shows.

My mofher used to take me to a particular cinema that specialized in foreign films when I was a small boy to see British comedies.  I can remember the original Ladykillers, Man in The White Suit, The Lavender Hill Mob, Kind Hearts and Coronets.  One of those was my first.

The first movie I ever watched must be at the Queens theatre in Geylang. Must be some Chinese fighting movies starring Ti Lung, Lo Lieh etc. I can recall movies like Dracula and the seven golden vampires, The Snake Man and Black Magic. I remember my mum also brought us to Hollywood theatre for those Chinese romance movies. Yah, old fart I am  ;D
