Help to set up a HT system

Featured Replies

I need some help to set up a HT system - not as in giving recommendations but as in the actual setting up of the system.  I will explain but first, a little intro about my system.

I have a basic entry level HT system which I have used for the last 5+ years and which has now been moved to my bedroom. I have just bought a  2nd hand processor and power amp.  I need to connect a TV, DVD recorder and DVD player.  I only have 3.1 speakers.  All in all, I think that I have a basic system which I should be able to set up but I am not much into HT and I don't know anyone else who can help.  All that I want is to set up it right the first time round and configure it properly (with a SPL meter etc).  I am not likely to fiddle with it after that nor do I intend to upgrade it for the near future.

I think that I am likely to run into problems with the connections or the configuration.  In fact, I can see it just happening since I am really bad with technical stuff.  As such, I would really appreciate the help of someone with experience or expertise in setting up a HT system and who has some time to spare this Sun afternoon/evening.  I would offer drinks + food/tidbit + monetary incentives.

Please feel free to pm me to discuss and for further details.

For the mods, please shift to the correct folder if this post should not be here. Thanks.
