Hi, will using the Kharam burn-in CD damage anything? Is it effective? It's meant for speedy run-in for any new hi-fi & HT components, right? Have u tried other brand of burn-in CD?

Thanks!

The usual place - NDV@Adelphi - burn a pocket hole at $37. Actually Ernst tried selling also the other one XLR or whatnot Test Disc ard $34 (something like that). But I prefer tis Kharma cos all tracks are 'natural' instruments, with the hidden track 9 serves as Demagnetiser - sounds like just running tone from High-Low freq. Chk it out at:

Actually, I can always pick out from my CD library to run some instruments for burn-in. But I am just tooooo lazy to load/unload these discs. Now, with one disc (percussion, piano, organ, flute) can juz leave it to play, just like normal play of classical music mah  ;D

Burn-In CD, aka CD Enhancement / run-in, does not literally burn anything, if tats wat ure worrying   8)  Whether it is a run-in CD or heavy metal CD, IMO I wont pump up the volume until I know wat each track is playing. Otherwise, YES, it may hurt the spkrs   :'(  Tis Khama Burn-In CD does have couple of tracks tat may 'break' tweeter or woofer, if play at high volume level.

As in my previous post, u could always pop in any CD, preferably orchestral symphonic stuff. Basically, u wanna to have the widest frequency sampling to exercise yr spkr (maybe cables, CDP, amp, AVR, etc......). U can oso pop in S.H.E., but the effect is minimal, IMO. Anyway, burn-in anot can be a political, disputable issue  ::)   At times, I may find telling myself tat there is perceiving improvement or opening up  :o

As said, tis Kharma burn-in CD has juz conveniently compiled a list of instruments. In fact, after tis CD, i will oso pop in some MIC CDs tat play er-hu, pi-ba, qing-zhen,.......Not quite sure abt other burn-in CD, its juz tat I prefer 'natural' instruments. I am burnin-in on both stereo and HT setups. For onkyo, I set the audio sel to 'All ch Stereo', so even the Surr L/R get good exercise  ;)

As a rule of thumb and advised by Ernst, do the burn-in / run-in for abt 3 weeks, and run demagnetizer (track 9) every 3 mths. I do it at my comfy level  :D

Are you using a AVR as a tuner? Just wondering how to connect my AVR to my tube amp as a tuner.  :)

Is the AVR Front L/R Pre-Out to the Tube Amp?

Like the following tube amp, you could Pre-Out Front L/R using RCA Interconnect to the tube amp Tuner Input (in fact, you could oso use DVD or Tape). Then on AVR, switch to Tuner, and on tube amp, also switch to Tuner, you should get 'sound' out from spkrs. But it is discouraged.........generally prefer to use digital amp.

PS: I have considered to integrate tube amp with AVR. But have been discouraged, mainly bcos the tube takes a while to WARM UP.
