SiriuslyCold Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 "They were very persuasive and aggressive. While we were still negotiating the price, they already loaded the theatre set into my car! I bought the set for $300 thinking that it was very cheap," the STOMPer had said. The STOMPer said he felt cheated after he found out that the new set did not have an amplifier. you bought speakers, duh.
Darthfunk Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 you bought speakers, duh. Nope never buy speakers from white van. Actually saw thier white Van recently at Marine Drive carpark. Glad the authorities are taking action against them.
SiriuslyCold Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Nope never buy speakers from white van. what i was commenting on was the person who bought the speakers, went home to find that there is no amplifier, and he called the sellers cheats?? I thought he bought speakers, and if he didn't know what he was buying perhaps its obvious how he got scammed
ckng Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 He probably thought he was buying a HTIB, not just the speakers. For us, "Speakers" means "Speakers only". :P Regards CK

weibchen Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 actually come to think about it, its quite a good deal for budget/el cheapo users. just get a 2nd hand amp and it'll be cheaper than most MM/HTIB.

imbest Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 any idea how much exactly it was supposed to worth? I almost wanted to offer them $50 and ask them to get lost after getting the speakers ;D since they said it's "free" for them what. hehe...that was many many years back at the carpark beside SLT....
armoury Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 What was really bizzare was some time back, I was driving down Hill Street, we were stopped at a traffic light, and the passenger in the van next to me actually yelled out his window whether I was interested in home theatre speakers or not! I'm surprised I actually heard him.
