watchthewaves Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Hi, Would like to hear from anyone who has had the chance to compare these 2. I was able to see them side-by-side. At whatever setting the shop had set, the PV70 had more natural looking colours, and the C91 had deeper colours. I suppose that this is not too major cos colour can adjust? When looking at a building with intricate architectural designs, and the camera pans slowly, there is "wobbling" in the fine lines - is this called moire? Happens for both sets. Is there any TV at all that would display steady lines in this situation? Overall though, my better half preferred the PV70. She said that the C91's picture looked a bit plasticky. I read hdtvtest.co.uk which seemed to prefer the Panasonic equivalent there (PX70) over the Samsung equivalent (they tested the Q97, not the C series); or at least they have less negatives to say about the Panasonic compared to the Samsung. But hdtvorg.co.uk seems to prefer the Q97 over the PX70.
imbest Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Q and C series has better PQ to me, but it's subject to individual onez.....some people just dun like "artificial picture enhancement". Samsung's color is always more brilliant and "lack of" that "black"..... is "black" really that crucial? I just watched Simsons....."black" is the ugliest color to human being....opps..just joking. I did see both and together with other brands 42" plasma comparing side by side b4. there are only 2 things I dun like about Samsung, the potential burnt mark issue (which I am not too sure if it could be prevented) and the unatural 4:3 view for SD input. However, I do not know if you need to enable the overscan function to make it look nice on SD, I'm yet to explore that yet. Other than these 2 points, just my POV, Samsung is more value for money and in fact, much better in terms of PQ. but hoh.....korean products....tsk tsk tsk......must think again noh..... Perhaps you want to wait for Samsung to launch their next generation of Plasma.....I still have no confident about the Q and C series......
